Turn the text in an image into real text
A screenshot, a scanned page, a whiteboard or a sign: Pixanon reads the text in it so you can copy it and paste it anywhere.
Add an image or paste a screenshot (Ctrl+V). The text appears next to it, ready to fix and copy.
Words marked in orange are uncertain; give them a check.
For better results
- Sharp and straightBlurry or tilted text is harder to read. Put the page on a flat surface and shoot it straight on in good light. If it’s sideways, fix it first with the Rotate tool.
- Pick the right languageChoose the language the text is in. For a mix of English and Turkish, pick “Both”.
- Join the linesText copied from a screenshot or a page breaks in the middle of sentences. With “Join lines into paragraphs” on, each paragraph comes out in one piece.
- Text in a PDFFor a scanned PDF, turn its pages into images with the PDF to JPG tool first, then add them here.
Common questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The text is read in your browser by the open-source Tesseract engine. Your images never leave your device.
Can it read handwriting?
It works very well on printed and on-screen text. With handwriting, results depend on how neat it is; joined-up handwriting usually doesn’t work.
Which languages does it read?
English and Turkish, including Turkish letters like ç, ğ, ı, ş. Choose “Both” when a text mixes the two.
Is it free, are there limits?
It’s free with no sign-up. You can add 20 images at a time, as often as you like.
