About Pixanon
We make small, fast image tools that leave your files with you.
Why we made it
Shrinking a photo or changing its format is a simple job. Yet most tools online want you to upload your file to their server first. Some ask you to sign up, some show ads, some put a daily limit on it.
We knew the same work could be done without sending the file anywhere. That’s why Pixanon exists: it opens your image, processes it and hands it back, all on your own device.
How it works
The encoders we use for compression and conversion (MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif, Oxipng) run directly in your browser through WebAssembly. The work is done by your computer’s or phone’s processor, not by a server.
There’s a trade-off: older devices can be a little slow with very large files. In return, your file always stays with you.
Is it free?
Yes. Since we don’t process your files, our server costs are tiny. Right now there are no ads and no accounts.
What’s next
- Social media pack: every Instagram, Story, YouTube and X size from a single image
- Batch rotate and flip
- Images to PDF
If there’s a tool you’d like to see, write to us. We order the list largely by what people ask for.
