Fix sideways photos
Turn photos a quarter turn or flip them like a mirror. Give them all the same setting, then fix the odd ones one by one.
If just one photo is the wrong way round, open “Details” in the list and rotate only that one.
Which one when?
- 90° right / leftFor photos taken or shown sideways. “Right” is clockwise.
- 180°For documents scanned upside down and photos taken the wrong way up.
- Flip horizontalFixes mirrored text in front-camera selfies; shows the image as in a mirror.
- Flip verticalTurns the image upside down like a reflection in water.
Common questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Rotation happens in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
My photo looks upright on my phone but sideways on my computer. Why?
Phones store the orientation as a note (EXIF) inside the file, and some programs ignore it. Pixanon applies that note and saves the photo truly rotated, so it looks upright everywhere. For a photo like this, “No rotation” is enough.
Will I lose quality?
Not with PNG. JPEG, WebP and AVIF are saved again; at the default 92% quality the difference isn’t visible.
Can I turn some photos a different way?
Yes. The general setting applies to all; open a photo’s “Details” in the list to rotate only that one left or right.
Do iPhone (HEIC) photos work?
Yes. HEIC photos are rotated and saved as JPEG, or as PNG, WebP or AVIF if you prefer.
