Make images smaller, keep the quality
Drop your files and they are compressed right away. The format stays the same. If the result is larger than the original, the original file is kept.
Quality (JPEG, WebP, AVIF)
Changing a setting recompresses the files in the list. Metadata (EXIF, GPS, etc.) is removed during compression.
FAQ
What does the quality setting change?
Lower values give smaller files, higher values give sharper images. For photos, 70–80 is usually indistinguishable from the original.
Why do PNGs get so much smaller?
Colors are reduced to a palette of up to 256. Screenshots, logos and illustrations look the same. If gradients in a photo-like PNG start to band, turn on "Don't reduce PNG colors".
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs in your browser.
