    • Which code?HEX (#E4572E) is the most common on the web and in design tools. RGB and HSL are handy in CSS for making colors lighter or darker.

    Common questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The colors are worked out in your browser. Your image never leaves your device.

    How are the colors found?

The pixels are grouped in a color space close to how the human eye sees color differences (OKLab). The center of each group becomes a palette color, and its percentage shows how much of the image it covers.

Does the same image always give the same palette?

Yes. The same image with the same number of colors always gives the same result.

    What about transparent PNGs?

Transparent pixels are ignored; the palette comes only from the visible part.
